Server Updated…

It’s been a very slow month going into Season 7 and with the game being Alpha, we have to expect this month to be not as well as the other month. With that being said we have seen a drop in players because of the pre mid wipe, and for my decision to save the buildings on the Server.

I know some people were not happy with my decision and some were happy. I’m sure I didn’t make everyone happy in this Season 7 of Brave New Rust, but please understand that I’m trying my best to make it all work.

I’m sad to inform the PvE server will be coming down and be changing to different Rust experiment. I have taken down the server because the PvE wasn’t working and wasn’t driving traffic for the game. Lots of Mod problems, lots of updates that made the PvE server broken. So I will try to make a different Server that people would like to play on. I’m currently in the works in changing it to a “Small Map, Vanilla, PVP Server”

I notice people talking about the current server being too big, but that was for the intention of a max 60 man server which we did have on the start, but because of the recent patch, it dropped tremendously.

Moving forward, next season we will go back to 4k and with this new XP system, it looks like we are starting from scratch with the game mechanics of the game again. So in layman’s terms, Since Facepunch had a bumpy patch, expect these growing pains to be better for Season 8.

Hi Brave New  Rust Community,

Been busy working with real life and with all the different changes of Rust, not alot of people are happy with the wipe and no wipe. I understand the peoples frustration, but please bare with all the changes, it is still a work in progress.

With Brave New Rust: PvE, with all these new changes, many mods were broken.

I took the PvE mod off so, you can continue to build. The server is still a work in progress and I have to continue to make changes. Hope that should fix something and you guys can continue to build if you would like.

We saw a lost of numbers that left the server, but like always, the server is like an ocean and waves come with ebb and flow. Here are the numbers…

This tells me that half of the server either stopped playing, joined other games, or playing on another server. Overall, its normal with the stats from last month being about the same number of user on in any given time.

Hope you enjoy some information and I will let you know if there is any more updates, hopefully by next month, everything will be more squared away.

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

So all Servers are Updated and Restored all by the mercy of “Garry”…

Everyone should have their buildings, items and level. But it seems that everything you have learn is gone again. I’m very glad that I had a chance to at least save your buildings and your inventory.

I know that Season 7 has been a bumpy ride for all of us, but hopfully Helk fix all the bugs and optimize issue for Rust. Expect more Patch Updates in upcoming days so please prepare if I have to reset the Server in the near future.

Today’s patch will be a bit bumpy. I already feel there’s going to be up and down so I’m not sure what’s going to happen. I’m waiting for further instruction on how to restore the XP and the save files. Helk says I have an option for everything to be restore. But with all the glitches, I’m not too entirely sure on how this whole process will work out.

So please bare with me, I’m trying my best to keep your progress going, and if I don’t its still not the end of the world. The Servers will probably be on and off due to maintenance today. Thanks again for your patience, I’m trying to keep your progress.

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

So good news “Helk” said there’s an option for a no wipe on Thursday. I would have to look in further on how to restore the save, but we should continue our season with where we left off, which is good.

“We’ve also introduced a feature that will allow community server owners to restore the old xp database and savegame file after they’ve patched incase they do not want to participate in the forced wipe.” – Helk

We can only hope this new patch will go more smoothly. Apparently groups were getting too much of an advantage and they are nerfing it for more game balance issues.

Here’s the Reddit Post

1. Max XP you can earn from any one player is limited to 6xp.
2. No more xp gained from the usage of resources – instead its from the first few times crafting an item
3. XP diminishing is in effect. This means the more someone harvests for you the less xp you get
4. Radial XP falloff (working on it ) this means that you will not earn xp for player actions farther than n units from your current position, hopefully meaning you’ll have to mentor people or be around them rather than AFK in your base.

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

Here’s the moment y’all have been waiting for, its been 7 months in the making, which includes the building of this community, tons of game updates, and this websites. Thanks for joining the “Brave New Rust Community” we have grown from a very humble beginning from a population of one, to a population of 50+ in across 3 different Rust servers.

I want to take the time now, to thank everyone that has donated to the server. I appreciate everyone that has donated, and you guys really help keep these servers alive. You guys keep motivated on keeping the server clean from trolls and cheaters. It also help out on the server fees and expansions of more marketing for the server. Your donations helps tremendously because I continue to see growth on all the server and less trolls and hackers. Also I get tons of compliments on how they love playing on BNR, like always I appreciate all your comments, good or bad.

Thank you again for joining our Rust Community and I am slowly expanding to other survival games to expand to more game servers to explore.

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

There’s has been some server issues with blueprints on the US Brave New Rust Server, I have issued a ticket to see there is a remedy. But the end is near and the new XP is about to start on 7/7.

This will be a big change for the game of Rust, even though people might moan and groan about the new system. Change is always good.

So here’s a preview to the next season, it will be bigger map and it should give you guys enough space for more room to build.
