BNR: Server Update 6/30

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

No update today and I haven’t been posting anything really new on Rust because right now all the development is going all in on the new XP system. As you all know the next wipe will be coming next week so this will be the last week to do whatever you got to do and we will wipe on 7/7.

I hope you use this weekend to relax, play rust or just be with your families. Its July 4th this weekend and I hope everyone have fun and are safe.

Right now, I’m going to a big transition in my life. And more that I would like to admit it, I’m going through some big changes. With trying to find work, moving to Washington, working in Oklahoma, and being on the road for 3 weeks, has been an adventure.

Somehow, in some weird way, “Rust” falls in to place somewhere in there.

This month has been fun, as I manage to start settling in and got my computer setup. I’m running on a better video card so I can actual play. For the most part, I believe everyone is waiting for the new XP system, so once that goes live on 7/7 we’ll hopefully see a max server.

BNR: Server Update 6/16

Hi Brave New Rust Community,

All Servers are updated, so have fun.

I’m currently working on my computer and upgrading my hardware. I’m trying to continue to improve my Twitch Channel and the Brave New Rust Community. So any suggestion or if you want to help out, please message me for inquire on how to better the community.

I have lots of ideas that are in line, such as; special events, making Rust videos, taking more screen shots, and more PvP. I hope Brave New Rust continues to grow as a community and I will do my best to manage all the servers.

We have 3 servers now and I hope with more support and members we can continue to make Brave New Rust grow. Thank you for being a part of it, so stay rusty and be kind to each other. With the recent current events, we can find ourselves peace in Rust.

Changed decay of most deployables to 2 days delay and 2 days duration
Changed decay of boxes and furnaces to 2 days delay and 4 days duration
Changed default decay tick interval to 10 minutes
Most deployables can now be repaired
Fixed incorrect collision meshes on twig roof sides
Terrain collision is now always reset when admin cheat is toggled
Added server side client tick flooding protection
Added maxflood server convar (allowed player ticks per second)
Player position ticks are now processed as a curve on the server
Added noclip_protection mode 3 (verifies movement on position curve)
Added noclip_stepsize and noclip_maxsteps server convars
Increased strictness of fly and speed hack detection

Here are the main rules:

  • No Racist Comments and Chat (I.E…Nazi, Gender Insults, Harassement)
  • Don’t use any types of hacks
  • You will be banned if found to have an EAC ban on other account(s)
  • If you are caught repeatedly playing with hackers you will be banned
  • No manipulation of your network connection to cheat/glitch (life time ban)
  • No looking up other players social media pages and talking about it in game or using their pictures
  • No over the top or constant personal attacks towards other players, It’s a game so have fun and don’t make other people feel miserable
  • No abusing glitches
  • No spamming of in game chat
  • Don’t Advertise other servers/websites
  • No impersonating admins and/or other players (Including clan tags)
  • No voice spamming by holding down the mic button for an extended amount of time with the goal to piss people off.
  • Don’t spread false information to cause trouble.
  • DON’T use a VPN, hackers often use these so they are harder to track down. Playing on a VPN may get you automatically banned

Use your common-sense, if you think it could be breaking the rules then chances are it is… i shouldn’t have to spell out every rule.

Admins may ban or chat/voice mute for any reason, it isn’t your right to play on the server, you are a guest and if we get sick of you then you are gone.


Daily Server Resets 6/2

For performance, the server resets everyday for good latency. Please make sure you’re not crafting during these times or the client will boot you when resets.

I tried to reset during non peak times.

  • Fixed bug where a gun’s magazine would spawn out of thin air in 1st person during reload
  • Dungeon art monthly progress
  • Weapon mods can both offset and scale all weapon stats
  • Fixed weapon hip aim cone parameter being ignored
